Piecing Together the Jigsaw Strategy!
This is a picture of the presentation my group created on how cooperative learning differs from direct instruction!
This week, my class put the Jigsaw method to the test by splitting up our core group so that each member could become an expert on a different component of cooperative learning! I became an expert in the differences between cooperative learning lesson plans and direct instruction lesson plans, which you can see above. I thought that this was a great way to immerse ourselves in this instructional method, showing us firsthand how this strategy would work in the classroom. I would definitely use the Jigsaw strategy in my classroom because I think that it's an excellent way for students to learn from each other and take charge of their own learning, while having the teacher present to support them when needed.
